  • Intermediate / Senior Software Developer

    Are you interested in getting involved with a group of creative and highly focused people? Are you interested in working for a Company with existing clients and revenues focused in moving its operations and technology to the next level?

     

    MonkeyMedia Software provides solutions to multi-unit restaurants, bakeries and other members of the food industry to manage customers, orders, production, distribution, and inventory. The company has been in operation since 1998 and is looking for a Intermediate / Senior Azure Developer .

    What we are looking for:

     

    Skills and Experience: 

    • 5+ Years of Software Development experience
    • 2+ Years experience working with relational databases (SQL Server)
    • 2+ Years experience developing with Microsoft stack technologies (C#, ASP)
    • 2+ Years experience working within Microsoft Azure technologies including Cosmos, Azure Service Bus
    • Experience with MVC frameworks
    • Strong experience with Design Patterns and best practices
    • Familiarity with developing services (SOAP, REST)
    • Expertise in service transportation/serialization formats in XML, JSON, etc
    • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery
    • Experiencing writing using TDD and/or BDD
    • Experience with Agile development processes, methodologies, and tools.
    • Strong command of data query/definitions languages (SQL) and enterprise databases such as SQL Server. Ability to learn systems and procedures quickly and on the fly.
    • Be a self-­starter who is able to fill in the blanks and get the job done.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems.
    • Ability to work remotely, delivering in a cadence of 1-2 week sprints with minimal supervision.
    • Adept at handling multiple assignments, shifting priorities, and interruptions.
    • You have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
    • Experience working with Java and Coldfusion is an asset

     

    What you will be doing:

    •  Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the software development life cycle.
    • Provide technical leadership and expertise within the organization specifically in regards to best practices and the usage of Azure.
    • Work with local and off-shore teams to best support development and maintenance.
    • Work with team members in translating business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
    • Providing in-production environment support – researching and solving issues.
    • Working with our ColdFusion team to provide seamless experiences for our end users
    • Identify and execute on opportunities for self improvement in areas such as agile processes, application performance, code quality, issue detection and resolution, etc.
    • Thrive in a team environment with smart people who love debating, challenging the status quo, and working with complex requirements.

     

     

    Education:

    • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent related experience.

     

     

    The working environment is a combination of distributed and in-office, the successful candidate will need to reside the metro Vancouver / Lower mainland area of BC in order to participate in weekly in-office meetings.

  • Junior/Intermediate DevOps Engineer

    What we are looking for:

    Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with Windows/Azure administration
    • Experience with SQL Server/Azure SQL administration
    • Experience with Java Application Servers
    • Experience with Microsoft’s Azure configuration and AD or other cloud services
    • Fluency in a scripting language
    • An ability to use a wide variety of technologies
    • A passion for learning
    • Experience with Jenkins, Git/SVN, and automation
    • Strong in the use of continuous integration and delivery
    • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for SaaS providers
    • Demonstrate ability to assimilate new knowledge quickly
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced rapidly growing company
    • Highly organized and sense of ownership
    • Be a self-starter who can fill in the blanks and get the job done.

     

    What you will be doing:

    • Maintaining production and pre-production infrastructure of a SaaS product.
    • Working in a hybrid colo and cloud-based environment.
    • Supporting development and internal development teams with infrastructure or services.
    • Optimizing the release processes and practices.
    • Working on projects to upgrade/migrate technologies to support the overall product.
    • Helping the team to diagnose and resolve issues
    • Monitoring and responding to production issues

     

     

    Education:

    ·         Degree in Computer Science / Information systems or related experience.
